My thoughts on the violence in Egypt today and ways to help. #IAmN @JohnnieM @POTUS @rev_rodriguez

One of the most heartbreaking and confusing things is to read the news about my Christian brothers and sisters being killed for their faith around the world, as I did today regarding Egypt. Just days after a suicide bombing in Manchester that claimed the lives of children from all different backgrounds we have this shooting in Egypt. I’m left wondering what, if anything, can I do?

Something I know is that we must come together, all people. We must erase lines of division and fight for what is common between us, humanity. Every person deserves the right to life, the right to love, and the right to live without fear of that being taken from them. Regardless of what you believe religiously or politically, this must remain true. I myself, a Christian, mourn over the lives lost in Egypt today but also the lives of Muslims, women, children and others who find themselves under the rule of fear and persecution. This cannot continue.

This is bigger than a president, bigger than you and me.

I encourage you, if you’re reading this, to educate yourself on what’s happening globally. We cannot turn a blind eye. Pray that there will be peace, and do what you can do to help. Below are some great ways to get involved.
