Running towards the fire.

¹ Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. ² And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. ³ And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” ⁴ When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush…

Exodus 3:1-6

Moses CHOSE to get closer.

Do you see it?

God didn’t call out to Moses from the burning bush until after Moses recognized the remarkable and CHOSE to get a closer look.

Are we curious?
Are we hungry to know God?
Are we ready for that?

The bush is still burning.
God is still alive and moving.
Will we turn aside, from the routine, from the normal, from the world and see?

If we do there’s some amazing things ahead.

⁴ When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” ⁵ Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”

There’s going to be a CONFRONTATION.

We don’t just stroll into God’s presence, He’s Holy.

⁶ And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

There’s going to be CONSECRATION.

God wants to speak to us, have relationship with us, so He purifies us with the fire of His Spirit.

¹⁰ Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

There’s going to be COMMISSIONING on your life.

This is where God sends.

When we draw near, allow God to purify us, He reveals His purpose for our lives more and more.

¹¹ But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” ¹² He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

There’s going to be COVENANT of relationship between you and God.

So today, as you move through your day, where are you at in this process?

Are you right now CHOOSING to get closer to God?

Like Moses and the burning bush? If so, what is God doing in your life?

Is He CONFRONTING an area of who you are?

Is He CONSECRATING you? Trying to purify you through repentance and forgiveness?

Is He COMMISIONING you? What has He called you to do? Job? Family? Self?

Is He making a CONVENANT to you? What has God been speaking and promising you?

Run towards the supernatural.

Make the CHOICE to get closer to Jesus, and ask Him where in the process you are and what He is trying to do.
